Tech Session at Alex Engles place

How did 9 quarts of oil just disappear?

From JT:

Success at the Engle's home. Thanks to Elizabeth for a hearty breakfast buffet and coffee for all. Very little drama in the exercise. Rob noticed it was unusual that no blood was shed. Strong attendance assured that there were lots of opinions on how to proceed. Lot's of cooks in the kitchen. No obvious signs of any exterior engine oil leakage. All the spark plugs with the exception of #6 looked perfect. Thus, it appears the culprit. Enjoy the pics. JT
Attendees:
Alex Engles, Jim Narum, John Taphorn, Rob Pink, Wally Meyer, Ed Nagel, Brian Hill, Steve Hawkins, Kevin Vincent and his son, John.

Some hardware in the driveway.

Someone needs to enlighten several of us.
This is a picture (kinda' blurry) of the distributor gear in Alex's engine.
The distributor has a slot in the shaft and the gear has a tongue sticking up. I/we have never seen something like this….
